World of Warcraft: Wrath of The Lich King
World of Warcraft fans are excited about the new expansion pack Wrath of The Lich King coming out and even more excited about the beta testing available. With the Burning Crusade expansion there was a random drawing to see who was able to participate in the beta testing. This time they are having people apply to be a part of the testing. This expansion brings new level cap, new continent, a new class and so much more.
The expansion brings a level cap of 80 as opposed to 70 from the Burning Crusades. They are raising the profession cap to 450. These new levels of characters mean more spells, abilities, and items. More interesting to me then the level caps is the new class Death Knight. Death Knights are a hero class and are only available to people with a character level 55 or up. People will be able to create one Death Knight per realm, and the Death Knights start at 55 with a great list of spells. Instead of rage or mana these characters will use a new rune system to cast. There are three rune types that have been confirmed blood, frost, and unholy. The new system requires different runes for different spells and the runes have a cool down period.
There is a new continent Northrend which is crescent shaped and in North Azeroth. This frozen wasteland is not a place where low levels should venture since the lowest level content is aimed for characters who have hit 68. Northrend is home to the lich king and his army of undead and evil vampiric half-giants called Vrykul. The forsaken are going to be seeking revenge for that whole slavery thing so expect to see them around with new quests that will gain favor for you in the eyes of the forsaken faction. Spekaing of factions there are two new factions the Speartusk and the Taunka. Taunka are related to our favorite race of bovine the Tauren.
Some other things that the expansion brings are a battle with the Lich King at the Frozen Throne, siege weapons and destructible buildings for PvP, the ability to transform your hero’s look with new hairstyles and dances, a non-instanced Battleground, and an improved Graphics Engine. All in all it looks like Wrath of The Lich King will meet all expectations. Remember it’s a great day to be Horde.
